Thirty days hath September
April, June, and November
All the rest have thirty-one
Excepting February alone –
Which hath but twenty-eight, in fine,
Till leap year gives it twenty-nine.
- This ‘little rhyme’ tells a lot about the different months in a year.
- There are 365 days in a year. They are divided into 12 months. The months are:
- January
- February
- March
- April
- May
- June
- July
- August
- September
- October
- November
- December
- As the ‘little rhyme’ says January, March, May, July, August, October and December have 31 days.
- April, June, September and November have 30 days.
- February alone has 28 or 29 days.
- When there are 29 days in February, there are 366 days and the year is called a leap year.
